Global Entrepreneurship Week Celebrated Simultaneously Around the World

Global Entrepreneurship Week, which has been celebrated in Turkey every November since 2008 at the same time with 170 other countries, will be held between November 16-22 this year. The events draw attention to the importance of entrepreneurship and choosing entrepreneurship as a career.
COVID-19, which has affected the whole world, has caused serious damage not only to the human body but also to many sectors. However, in order to support the decreasing number of entrepreneurship projects, the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), which is celebrated in 170 countries at the same time, is celebrated under the umbrella of TOBB in Turkey in the third week of November.
Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel, President of the International Social Good Association (Social Business Global Association), emphasizing that social entrepreneurship provides many national and international contributions to companies, said: “Entrepreneurship is a platform that gives strength to both the individual and the company in a material and moral sense. In this context, as the Social Benefit Association, which is an international social entrepreneurship network, we ensure that young people consider entrepreneurship as a career option in the events we organize.
Social enterprise activities carried out to benefit the society have recently attracted a lot of attention in our country. The importance of social entrepreneurship is increasing day by day. Companies now want to engage in initiatives that are not only profit-oriented but also benefit society. In this context, the initiatives of brands contribute to both the company and the society. With the coronavirus that has recently affected the world, companies have started to spend long hours to realize their projects that will provide both financial and social benefits. In this context, Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated this week in Turkey along with the rest of the world in order to reveal the potential of young entrepreneurs and to support them.
“It is possible to make money by doing good”
Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel, who emphasized that social entrepreneurship has successful examples in every field regardless of the sector, said: “The main difference that distinguishes social entrepreneurship from entrepreneurship is that it benefits society. As a company or individual, your priority should be to solve any problem with social benefit. In fact, we call this making money by doing good. For example, I know companies that pioneered a social project without taking a penny out of their pockets and caused many children to smile. The aim here is to benefit society. In this way, while your company makes profit, you will also provide social benefit.
