International Social Entrepreneurship Workshop Held in Istanbul.
The International Social Entrepreneurship Workshop, coordinated by Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel, was held between July 23rd and September 2nd.
The participants, who came together to discuss the concept of ‘social entrepreneurship’, the importance of which is felt more intensely every day, and to examine successful examples, made their preparations months in advance. 936 people applied to participate in the workshop and 25 participants from 20 different countries attended.
In addition to Turkey, young social entrepreneurs from Italy, Tunisia, China, Pakistan, Canada, Algeria, Algeria, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Romania, UK, Indonesia, Tunisia, Greece, Morocco and Egypt attended the workshop.
While many local and international news channels from China to Pakistan covered the workshop, the fact that the workshop was organized and attended by young social entrepreneurs drew attention.
Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel, who organized the workshop, said; “We completed the preparations for the workshop, which we started with great excitement, with great excitement. During the workshop, we had the opportunity to examine 450 successful social enterprises in the countries of the participants. While examining the examples, we had the opportunity to examine the reasons behind their success by categorizing them according to the sector and the disciplines they apply.”
“Social Entrepreneurship is in the Traditions of this Land”
Stating that they will compile all these successful examples into a book, Adiguzel said, “Our aim is to bring together successful examples of social entrepreneurship in the international arena and to inspire new social entrepreneurs. Especially for our country, we have many examples of social entrepreneurship in the historical process. But young people do not recognize this concept. When it is explained, they get very excited and want to be involved. The best part is that they immediately start dreaming. It is an incredible feeling to be a partner in their dreams. There are many good practices in our customs and traditions about social benefit. I have no doubt that the day we succeed in integrating these practices into our commercial life, very good examples will emerge.”
