SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND VOLUNTEERSHIP SUMMIT

As IEEE Gebze Technical University Student Community Educational Activities committee, we came together with social entrepreneurs and many non-governmental organizations that have produced solutions to the problems in society and implemented these solutions at the SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND VOLUNTEERSHIP SUMMIT on February 1, 2021.

In this event, which consisted of 5 sessions in total, Fusun Emecan Ozcan, Deputy General Coordinator of LOSEV Foundation for Children with LOSEMI, Zulal Tannur, Atakan Nalbant and Defne Turker, WAWALK&TWIN / YGA VOLUNTEERS, Nermin Tol, KOCAELI Provincial Representative of TEMA FOUNDATION, H. Serhan Suzer, Founder of BASIC NEEDS ASSOCIATION and TERM SPOKESPERSON OF DISASTER PLATFORM and SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND VOLUNTEER SUMMIT. Serhan Suzer and Social Enterprise Mentor Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel were with us.

In our first session, we learned about LOSEV and children with leukemia from Fusun Emecan Ozen.

Afterwards, YGA Volunteers Zulal Tannur, Atakan Nalbant and Defne Turker told us about WEWALK&TWIN projects from YGA initiatives.

In our third session, we listened to Ms. Nermin about the establishment of TEMA Foundation, the path taken for soil and green cover, and the campaigns led by TEMA Foundation.

In our fourth session, Serhan Suzer talked about the vision and mission of the Basic Needs Association and the Disaster Platform.

The last session ended with Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel explaining the concepts of social entrepreneurship and social business.

After the sessions were completed, we held our online raffles.
