The meeting, which took place in Manisa Celal Bayar University Teknokent Conference Hall, started with the opening speech of the session chair Turkologist, Journalist and Author Ilknur Kamali. Then, National Athlete Yunus Emre Gundogdu, Dr. Enes Basak, Aegean Exporters Association Secretary General Cumhur Isbirakmaz, Ozgorkey Holding COO Toygun Tuncer and Acayip Isler Atolyesi Founder Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel answered Ilknur Kamali’s questions. The “Sectors Summit”, which was held with the participation of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Birol Kovancilar, Head of the Department of International Trade and Finance Prof. Dr. Murat Kocturk, was held with the intense participation of university students.
Dr. Enes Basak talked about his memories and the projects he has implemented since the day he stepped into the profession. After the event, Dr. Enes Basak said that he was very happy about the interest shown in the summit.
National athlete Yunus Emre Gundogdu, on the other hand, talked about the difficulties and obstacles he experienced in his journey to reach today in his field and said, “The Sectors Summit was very productive and enjoyable. As a participant, we had a nice exchange of information with my fellow students. I would like to thank the International Trade and Finance Club for organizing this event.”
Mr. Cumhur Isbirakmaz, Secretary General of the Aegean Exporters’ Association, expressed Turkey’s development in the field of economy and exports and what they pay attention to in terms of providing employment for young people and said: “It was a very pleasant conversation. I was very pleased to share both my professional and private experience in my career with the decision-makers of tomorrow and the interest shown. I wish the event to continue.”
Ozgorkey Holding COO Toygun ctalked about what awaits the world and Turkey in the future in the field of science and technology. He underlined the importance of production in the new world where artificial intelligence and robots will take over. Tuncer said, “I would like to thank the International Trade and Finance Club for organizing this event. It was a very enjoyable and productive event.”
Ismail Hilmi Adiguzel, Founder of Acayip Isler Workshop, presented sections of his life story with photographs. Mentioning that it is of great importance that the association, of which he is the founding president, and national and international social responsibility projects set an example for young people and that it is of great importance to continue such projects together with the concept of social entrepreneurship, Adiguzel described one of his most desired ideals in recent times as ensuring that social entrepreneurship is consciously practiced in our country and even by young people. Adiguzel reminded that one of the most important building blocks of social entrepreneurship culture is the culture of living together and solving social problems by living together rather than classifying them as problems. In this way, Adiguzel mentioned that when the entrepreneurial excitement among young people and the sensitivities that exist in this culture are brought together, it is inevitable that very successful results will arise, “It was obvious that the students who organized the event, where the participation was high and many of the students had to listen standing up, were prepared with great devotion. In many universities, I used to feel sad when I saw that the organizing students were not in the hall or could not be there. Here, on the contrary, everything was organized and they were all in the hall listening to the speakers with full attention. It was great because of the contribution of the university administration and the participation of the vice-rector. Again, unfortunately, in many universities, we do not encounter university management that is present until the end of the organization. I would like to thank everyone who contributed.”
Young inventor Hakan Cakar from Edremit, who pioneered an event that brings young people together with the future, said, “We have realized our ‘Sectors Summit’ event, which we started working on since June, when we took over the management. First of all, I would like to thank all our speakers who accepted our invitation. We had valuable entrepreneurs, business people, managers, doctors and writers among us. Each of our speakers are senior people in their sectors. This was actually what we wanted as the Club Management. It was quite difficult for us to organize a summit where all faculty students could attend instead of addressing only the students of a faculty, but it was not impossible. We faced many difficult obstacles, but we never gave up. At times, we compromised our personal lives, but we hosted our guests in a way that suited us and our University. I would like to thank especially my club management, Manisa Governor Ahmet Deniz, University Rector Kemal Celebi, Vice Rector Birol Kovancilar, Head of SKS Department Ayhan Bilir, Director of School of Applied Sciences Ali Riza Gokbunar, Club Advisor and Head of International Trade Department Osman Murat Kocturk and all our academicians, Edremit Vocational School Director Raif Sakin and members of the press for their support.”
Answering the questions of the press members at the end of the event, Hakan Cakar stated that they have started a study with Filiz Aslan, Research Assistant at Celal Bayar University International Trade and Finance Department, on the fight against substance abuse, and that they will announce their project in the coming days with a press release from the Parliament.
At the end of the event, plaques and certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers who answered the points that the audience was curious about. -MANISA
